Jazz Festival 2018

The Vigo Jazz Festival has been held for more than a decade in the city of Vigo. It was born due to the great tradition that Jazz music has in the city. Understanding Jazz as a musical style mainly instrumental in which the musicians improvise varying and modifying the melody. It has its origins in the African-American community and has been adopted by many singers today. In this edition Kenny Garrett Quintet will participate as a featured artist.

The festival will take place both in the open air (Londre Street or Plaza de la Princesa) and in the Municipal Auditorium, Official Conservatory or Casa das Artes.

Outstanding singers in the history of jazz have been: Louis Armstrong (What a wonderful world), Melvin Howard Tormé (The Christmas song), Johnny Hartman (Songs from the heart)
