Active fires in Portugal stain the Vigo estuary and partially hide the sunlight.

The ashes and the haze that originates is reaching cities like Pontevedra, Vigo, Santiago ... in addition to the danger and havoc that is producing in many areas of Portugal as Oporto, Gondomar, Tábua in Coimbra, Penalva do Castelo, etc.

In Orense there are also outbreaks such as the one in A Gudilla, which is now inactive. Meanwhile, the outbreaks in Chandrexa de Queixa (Orense) and Cercedo-Cotobade (Pontevedra) are still active.

With numerous sections of roads cut of the A42, A24, A11, A342, A333, A231. A210, etc.

Currently more than 60 active outbreaks with numerous operatives; 36 aerial and more than 5200 operators. Unfortunately, 7 people died, including 3 firefighters, in a plane crash when they were surrounded by flames. In addition to the lives of numerous animals and the destruction of thousands of hectares of land, the Portuguese government has declared all the affected municipalities a catastrophe zone.

Rarely has there been so much talk about a murderer on television as about Daniel Sancho Bronchalo, who even took the case to a university conference called "Approaching the Daniel Sancho Case: Crime in Thailand." as we will specify below. And not because murderers do not populate this society, sometimes discovered and punished, other times unfortunately not.

In Pontevedra last month the suitcase killer, José Manuel Durán González, was caught for the third time, a man who every time he left prison committed crimes by always murdering women in his environment.

He started with his own grandmother, stabbing her 16 times in 1988, which led to him spending 15 years in a psychiatric center

When he came out in 2004, he murdered his ex-partner again with a knife, which led to a 17-year prison sentence until 2023

So much so that the women in the city where A Lama was born and to which he returned every time he went out feared him and were scared despite being prohibited from going near there because he had a restraining order from the family of one of his victims.

In 2023, he again killed a woman with whom he lived in a room they rented in Vigo on Fragoso Street with a precise stab in the heart. She was found in a suitcase half a year after her disappearance. Currently, he has been ordered to be imprisoned incommunicado and without bail.

In 2022, another incident occurred on Zamora Street due to a conflict between neighbors, in which a sexagenarian complained about the noise of music and pots and pans, which led him to start sending warning notes to his neighbor until he ended up stabbing her to death, sentencing him for a crime of murder with cruelty and treachery to 20 years in prison.

Daniel Sancho apparently killed with premeditated blows, dismemberment, concealment of evidence and corpse after meeting his partner in Thailand, on a trip paid for with the murdered man's money and owing him a lot of money after having proposed to open a business. Perhaps because of the shame of his double life, (he is the grandson of a well-known actor apparently living in luxury while hiding his source of income by offering himself to other men for money).

However, it seems that not only his father and legal team tried to whitewash his conduct by demonizing the victim by calling a 30-year-old man an almost irresponsible minor, but also numerous Spanish gossip television programs seemed to support this theory. This was not the case with numerous YouTubers and digital commentators.

 Daniel Sancho was sentenced to death, commuted to life imprisonment while his sentence is confirmed. Like Artur Segarra, another Spaniard sentenced to death for murdering his partner, who is sentenced to life imprisonment by royal pardon on the Thai king's birthday. Finally, the Spaniard Carlos Alcañiz, who killed a co-worker in Ban Tai.

This has generated unrest in the Asian country, which wants nothing less than problematic or criminal tourism, as it practically lives off tourism and does not want this type of publicity.

Meanwhile, the UNED University has proposed a course and conference on the study of the Daniel Sancho case in its legal, psychological and social aspects in the Aula Magna of the UNED Associated Centre in Vitoria-Gasteiz

The deadline to sign up for the Andaina through the Galician mountains is open until May 10. It is part of the “Camiño a Camiño” program, taking place on Sunday, May 12, starting at the Saians Forest Park.

This Andaina has the purpose of getting to know the Galician mountains and their cultural and landscape value. Caballero pointed out that the hike will begin in the Saians Forest Park to cover Monte dos Pozos, Valladares, Matamá, Comesaña, Coruxo, Oia and Saians, being 20km long. and 5 km. for the little ones.

 

The Xunta has opened the deadline for summer camps this year 2024 with different overnight stays, of 9, 6 or 5 nights.

The application period runs from April 17 to April 30. The camps included will be held in the four Galician provinces.

The age range is up to 17 years. There are different camps in Galicia, volunteer camps in Galicia, in other autonomous communities and abroad.

There are also bilateral exchange programs with other autonomous communities. And “Get to know Galicia” Minicamps, lasting 5 days.

The Council's 2024 summer camps can now be requested and can request up to three camps in order of preference that will be awarded by lottery. A new feature this year is that camps can be added at different times even after the delivery of the first registration.

These camps will facilitate the reconciliation of family, personal and work life for the citizens of Vigo, offering 4,000 places.

Boys and girls born among children born between 2007 and 2020 will be able to register. The system for allocating places is by lottery among all applicants and can register from April 25 to Sunday, May 12.

They will begin on June 24 until August 30, in five shifts of two weeks each. There is a morning classroom and lunch box service with discounts for large families and single parents.
