The Ríos heroes

It happened in Vigo, in August 1929, that while enjoying a day at the beach, the children Enrique Lago and Luis Puga saw a Dornier 14 seaplane coming from Lisbon anchored at the ETEA refueling that suddenly burst into flames.

The young men, not caring about the risk to their lives, took a nearby boat and rushed to help the men who were escaping from the fire.

From the water, the commander of engineers Hidalgo begged them to help a comrade who did not know how to swim and was still in the seaplane without daring to leave it because he had the flames at his back and in front of him he was sure to drown.

There the boys of only 11 and 13 years old came rescuing him and saving his life.

On October 23, 2029, the Mayor of Lavadores, Governor of the Plaza and C.F. Camilo Molins.
