Thanks to the abundant wine harvests, a new rural business emerged, destined to give it an outlet, in which the neighbors devised their sale at home.
This happens in Galicia, in the north of the peninsula where young wine is enjoyed, accompanied by homemade tapas, prepared in private houses open for the occasion. Where the menu depends on the stocks of wine and viands. Where the taste and home environment combine to make a unique experience.
The houses with excess of wine open to the public: Furanchos or Louridos (Laurel in Galician) are indicated in the vicinity of the same with laurel, posters and informed by the neighbors of the area. They are mostly in the lower estuaries. Because of its functioning, there is no official list nor are they always the same, because here the availability of young wine from the current harvest is the one that rules.
This business born of the popular initiative and flourishing only during certain months of the year (from the end of autumn to spring) was hidden in its origins, but legislated by decree at present and available in this link.
