These days the "Optimist Cidade de Vigo International Meeting" is being held in Vigo, registered in the international calendar of the IODA, the most important class association in the world of sailing, opening the Excellence Cup, (Spanish Optimist circuit) . Thus, while the Snipe, Vaurien and 420 will compete in the Ría de Vigo, some 150 sailors from Portugal, France and Spain will sail in the Portuguese north in the Optimist City of Viana Trophy.

This first competition has up to 3 rounds per day scheduled in the Vigo estuary from October 29 to 31. Up to 300 youth and children's sailors participate.

However, this weekend the weather has been very rough and with storms in the city, which has prevented Saturday's heats.

The weather is expected to improve so that the other competitions can be carried out calmly.
