The Reconquista is a festival of National Tourist Interest since 2019 that commemorates the reconquest of the city by the citizens from the French in 1809. Officially the Reconquista is commemorated on March 28 but this year it will coincide with Holy Thursday for which will be held on two consecutive weekends.
For this reason, the town of Vigo received the title of "faithful, loyal, brave." Granted on March 1, 1810 by the Regency Council of Spain and the Indies.
Furthermore, the city of Vigo was the town that was occupied for the shortest time and was the first in the uprising and subsequent reconquest from the conquerors.
Saturday March 23
1:00 p.m.: Free concert at the Co-Cathedral of Santa María by the Children and Youth Orchestra of Vigo, Kv2211.
7:00 p.m.: Musical performances in Praza do Berbés.
8:00 p.m.: Representation of the dismissal of the mayor and taking of the city by the French army represented in the Plaza de O Berbés.
9:00 p.m.: Concert by de Ferraias of the ETEA.
Sunday March 24
_11:00h Quick painting contest and a demonstration of traditional crafts.
_11:30h Traditional dance workshop “André Adrio” and performance by Catro Quintos and Gaiteiros Arrulicados.
_ 2:30 p.m., in the same square, a popular meal will be held (seafood rice with a price of 20 euros per person) ending at 5:00 p.m. with the popular foliada, which will continue until 9:00 p.m.

As every year, children's drums will fill the Porta do Sol and O Berbés, ending with a hot chocolate for the youngest ones.
Friday April 5
_General rehearsal of the expulsion of the French.
_5:00 p.m. Inauguration of the Medieval Market with more than 200 craft and gastronomy stalls with its well-known choripan and traditional drinks.
Saturday 6 april
The gastronomic market continues from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., entertained by different music bands. This year the market grows, reaching Elduayen and Paseo de Alfonso.
Sunday April 7
_ 6:00 p.m. the great representation of the Reconquest of Vila de Vigo and the expulsion of the French army will be held in the city's Casco Vello.
