Concurso internacional de Piano - Ciudad de Vigo
From April 18 to 22, 2025 will be held in Vigo the International Piano Competition Maurizio Pollini Edition, which has been held since 2017.

Program:
Registration Period. 1/12/2024 to 15/03/2025.
- March 16 to 20: first round (jury deliberations of the participants' video recordings).
- March 21 : Information on who can move on to the next round.
- March 21 to 24: Period to complete the registration fees.
- April 17 at 8 p.m. : Inaugural concert and opening ceremony.
- April 18 at 9:00 a.m.: Drawing of the order of the participants.
- 18 to 20 April from 10:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m.: second round.
- April 21 from 10:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m.: semi-final.
- April 22nd at 17.00 : Final, jury deliberation and awards ceremony.

Registration for the municipal camps of the city will open this Monday, April 14 until 00 hours on Friday, May 9 on the website of the city council at the following link.
They will be offered for children born between 2008 and 2021, aged between 4 and 17 years. With the only requirement of being registered in the city council of Vigo.
The two-week camps run from June 23 to August 29. from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with tupperware service for those parents who want to send them food. Offering 4000 places.

XXXVII Fiesta da Ostra de Arcade (2025) en Soutomaior
The Gastronomic Festival of the Oyster of Sotomayor is listed as a festival of Tourist Interest of Galicia next to decomenzar in the town of Arcade in Soutomaior.
This initiative began in 1987 at the initiative of the oyster sector of Arcade, this year the festival will be held from 4 to 6 April.
Program:
_Friday 4: act from 22.00 hours with the music of the formations America de Vigo and Paris de Noia.
Saturday 5: At 12.00 hours comezara the tasting of the booths with the parade of Brassica Rapa.
At 22.00 hours the orchestras Kubo and Olympus. At 00.00 hours fireworks.
Sunday 6: at 10.00 a.m. parade of the Band of Music of Arcade. At 11.00 a.m. oyster stalls and music by Fernando Sanchez Jazz Quartet.
At 13.00 hours reading of the proclamation by Celso Fernandez.
To finish at 18.00 hours with the orchestra Festicultores Troupe.
Second edition of Rueda Academia de Cine
Thanks to the Film Academy and funded by the ICAA, comes this audiovisual development program:
_ On April 8, at the Marco Museum will be screened: "Los destellos" with 4 nominations for the Goya Awards and competed in the Official Section of the San Sebastian Film Festival. At the end there will be a discussion with Pilar Palomero, director and screenwriter.
On April 10, “La infiltrada” will be shown, a film for which Carolina Yuste won the Goya for Best Actress in a Leading Role and Goya for Best Film ex aequo, followed by a talk with the protagonist. At the Auditorio Municipal do Concello de Vigo.
From April 7 to 11 in Redeiras of the University of Vigo will host the talks and meetings of: Pilar Palomero and Victor Alonso Berbel, Lois Patiño Júlia de Paz Fran Araújo e along with the participation of the Residents of the Film Academy and Galician filmmakers
_On April 9 Actress Carolina Yuste will give a talk at the Escola Superior de Arte Dramática de Galicia (ESADG).
On April 10th, director Afioco Gnecco will comment on “Ciao Bambina” at an institute to be determined, nominated for Best Documentary Short Film at the Goya Awards.
April 11th. The IES Valladares and the Instituto Audiovisual de Bouzas will screen “7 formas de decir adiós”, short film directed by Jorge Naranjo.
Afterwards the workshop given by Lucía Estevez “Filming the movement”.
The Children's and Young People's Book Fair of 2025 will dedicate its edition to cinema and will have France as guest country, with a special guest: Marcelline Loup.
The relationship between Galicia and France, a country with a rich literary and cinematographic tradition, will be analyzed. The program will be explored through multiple activities, as well as world famous musicals: The Miserábles, The Adventures of Jules Verne, The Little Prince....
Authors such as Madame d'Aulnoy, Albert Uderzo and René Goscinny...
The book fair is held at the fairgrounds of Pontevedra.

Critical raw materials in Galicia
In the province of Ourense, there is an important project related to lithium mining, in the Beariz area. In the Doade-Beariz mine.
This deposit is key to European plans to secure the supply of critical raw materials, such as lithium, which is essential for the manufacture of electric batteries and other technologies as well as cobalt and nickel. The Doade-Beariz lithium mine has been selected as a strategic project by the European Commission,
Along with them, titanium and wolfram, raw boron, gallium... are used in defense technologies, solar panels...etc.
Another lithium extraction project in the “Cañaveral” deposit, in Cáceres, could start soon, although it is currently in the approval process. It depends on both the Spanish authorities and EU environmental regulations.
