Cierre de Peinador en 2024

The Vigo airport Peinador has to close for three weeks to fix damage to the landing strip due to leaks or sinkholes, a circumstance that became evident in 2023.

For this reason, from May 6 to 30, it will divert the flights that normally operate to the Santiago de Compostela A Coruña or Oporto runway for Air Europa, Ryanair, Vueling, Binter and Iberia.

What is already clear on the websites of these companies:

The Peinador track measures 200 meters long and 24 meters wide, a track that was inaugurated in 1956. Built in part by its own citizens...

A multitude of pets are waiting for you in a new campaign "Travesía Pet Dates" that is celebrated in the Travesía de Vigo shopping center, thus commemorating Valentine's Day.

This will be the third pro-adoption campaign in which by exposing photographs of 14 (two dogs  are inseparable)and 3 cats they hope to help find a family that will take them in and adopt them with love.

8 protective associations and shelters from Pontevedra collaborate in this initiative: Protectora de Animales de Vigo, Rescue Galicia, Protectora Os Biosbardos, Aloia Protectora, Cadeliños Animal Rescue Association, Tú Eres Nuestra Ayuda, Proyecto Gato and Canceira de Poio.

Chuliños Peluquería Canina has also collaborated too.

This year's carnival in 2024 will have a lot of significance in the towns that celebrate and wait for it the most, such as several towns in Vigo or Orense.

In addition, Ash Wednesday, February 14, this year coincides with Valentine's Day, so it is expected that there will be more places full in hotels, lodgings and therefore more tourists.

It may coincide with rallies of the current electoral campaign for the regional elections of Galicia that will be held this February 18, contested between 7 candidates with options to obtain representation in the regional Chamber

Thousands of pellet balls accumulate on the Galician and Asturian coasts after the shipwreck, they are not biodegradable and it is feared that fish will feed on them and then humans.

More 26.3 tons of pellets and containers with tires and plastic wrap fell into the sea from the Toconao ship on December 13, 2023.

Level two is already activated in Asturias, in Galicia level 1, even without agreeing on its responsibilities, but the important thing is to collect it and clean it as soon as possible.

Hundreds of volunteers on the community beaches to collect them and clean the Galician beaches since the pellets have already arrived in Ons, Nigrán (A Madorra) O Grove, Cangas, Canido and Villagarcia de Arousa. Volunteer groups circulate by telegram.

Ecoloxistas en Acción is going to file a lawsuit in the court of Noia against the company that owns the ship. They indicate that the bags are labeled with the name of the company Bedeko Europe.
