The Reconquest, a festival of National Tourist Interest, will be celebrated this year 2025 from March 22 to 30. It will be in the streets of "Casco Viejo".

Performances, market, performances, gastronomy, performances and medieval atmosphere will flood the streets of Vigo. In which the reconquest of Vigo from the French was celebrated on March 28, 1809.

The big days of the festivities are Friday 28 and Sunday 30. The children will also have their own "Reconquistiña" on Tuesday, March 25.

The city of Vigo is preparing to celebrate the traditional Irish Saint Patrick's Day this year, which will be held in the Bouzas neighborhood.

However, in keeping with the purest Irish tradition, all you need is a cozy Irish pub and good company to celebrate.

The origin of Saint Patrick's Day, celebrated on March 17, commemorates the death of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, who died on that day in 461. Saint Patrick was a missionary who was captured by pirates at the age of 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave. After six years, he managed to escape and returned home, but later returned to Ireland as a missionary to spread the Christian faith.

Over the centuries, the figure of Saint Patrick became a symbol of Irish identity. Today, March 17th is known for parades, beers, and the tradition of wearing green clothing, symbolizing the Emerald Isle of Ireland. The holiday has gone global, especially celebrated in the United States.
