The chaos was evident in the railway and subway stations. The UME arrived to mobilize various troops and rescue more than 30,000 travelers who had been stopped between different stations enabling numerous buses.

In any case, the Directorate General for Consumer Affairs has reminded consumers affected by the electricity blackout that they can claim reimbursement of air, boat, train or bus tickets or an alternative trip within the period indicated for each case, as well as unused mobile data and tickets for cancelled events.

It has also been contemplated that the deadlines for judicial processes and other official bodies to present documentation will be extended by 24 hours in addition to those of the computation that corresponded to them by law.

The causes of the total power outage have not yet been reliably clarified and the theories about whether it was a cyber attack, a failure of the electric company or other reasons have not yet been fully validated, while the National Court has opened a file to find out if the power failure was due to sabotage.
