20 kilometers from Vigo along the provincial highway EP-2908, in the Verdugo River Valley, is the Castle of Soutomaior, in Rúa del Rial, s / n, 36691, Pontevedra.

This medieval castle of the 12th century is owned by the Soutomaior house until its sale, now belongs to the Pontevedra deputation. Its garden was declared a Garden of 

International Excellence by the International Society of Camellia in 2012 for its collection of cameras of up to 22 different species. It has a botanical garden with more than 175 different trees some 8 centuries old.
