Vigocultura returns during the winter and spring months with around 30 different music, magic, dance, theatre and comedy shows starting at the end of January and running until 2 May with seventeen works for adults, nine for children and one performance for all audiences.

VigoCultura starts with two street shows on 31 and 1 February on Príncipe Street.

Vigo celebrates the inauguration of a new Talent and Technology Center new cybersecurity agency, an important step towards strengthening digital protection in the city. The agency, which opens with the aim of combating growing cyber threats, will offer protection services to SMEs and large companies, framing Vigo in international defense in cybersecurity matters.

The City Council has given the license for the construction of the photonic chip factory or Sparc project (Semiconductor Foundry and Advanced Photonics Research Centre) located in the Technology Park of Vigo Zona Franca, from 2026. It will have an area of more than 4,000 square meters. This project, with an investment of 3.6 million euros, will be dedicated to the development and research of new technologies applied to the manufacture of photonic chips.

Photonic chips or photonic integrated circuits (PICs) are devices that integrate optical components using light (photons) instead of electrical signals (electrons) for information processing and transmission.

Applications are as follows:

_Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
In Sensors and Imaging such as medical diagnosis and security systems.

LiDAR systems. In autonomous vehicles. Telecommunications and Data Centers.
- Quantum Computing.

The plant will generate more than 60 direct jobs and some 500 indirect jobs. It plans to manufacture more than 1,500 wafers per year for 90,000 microchips. Providing training for new workers. Placing Galicia at the forefront of photonic chips.
