The Virgen del Carmen has a multitude of faithful in coastal areas of Spain such as Bouzas or Coruxo where these festivities are celebrated with great devotion.

The festivities in honor of the Virgin go from the 14th to the 19th in Bouzas. Highlighting the 16th day of the Virgen del Carmen patron saint of sailors. This day a marine procession is celebrated in which all the sailors renew their vows seeking their protection for their work at sea. On Sunday night at 11 pm there are fireworks, even different shipping companies will require a special service with departures from Vigo and Cangas to enjoy the fireworks show.

During the festivities, various religious, cultural and recreational activities are carried out. The 19th is Children's Day.

In addition to the procession, the festivities include concerts, traditional music and dance performances.
