After a total power outage in Spain, Portugal and southern France, which did not affect Andorra for more than 15 hours, normality is being restored.

The chaos was evident in the railway and subway stations. The UME arrived to mobilize various troops and rescue more than 30,000 travelers who had been stopped between different stations enabling numerous buses.

Air services were much less affected. In any case, the Directorate General for Consumer Affairs has reminded consumers affected by the electricity blackout that they can claim reimbursement of air, boat, train or bus tickets or an alternative trip within the period indicated for each case, as well as unused mobile data and tickets for cancelled events.

It has also been contemplated that the deadlines for judicial processes and other official bodies to present documentation will be extended by 24 hours in addition to those of the computation that corresponded to them by law.

The causes of the total power outage have not yet been reliably clarified and the theories about whether it was a cyber attack, a failure of the electric company or other reasons have not yet been fully validated, while the National Court has opened a file to find out if the power failure was due to sabotage.

Schools in ten communities have suspended classes allowing access to classrooms: Galicia, Aragon, Madrid, Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, La Rioja, Murcia, Valencia.

This first event on the peninsula has rekindled purchases of analog radios, batteries, candles and flashlights. With all its good and bad anecdotes. As the rest of screens and cell phones in addition to the wonderful view of the night sky as from the most bustling cities usually do not have the opportunity to appreciate so many constellations and stars due to light pollution or the long wait of travelers without being able to communicate.

Today, Easter Monday, April 21, Pope Francis left us at the age of 88, due to a cerebral stroke that caused an irreversible heart failure at 7:35 a.m.

A Jesuit of Argentinean origin, he was the first non-European Pope in 10 centuries, elected on the fifth ballot of the second day of the conclave and coexisted in life with the Pope who preceded him and who had resigned: Benedict XVI, who died in 2022.

Pope Francis will be remembered for his conciliatory character, his more than 60 trips to spread the word of God and his rejection of Vatican luxuries.

So there will be big changes with respect to the burial of its predecessors.

The Pope himself, whose secular name is Jorge Mario Bergoglio, left written in his will the instructions for his final resting place; such as that his tombstone should only bear the name Franciscus, which he chose for his papacy in honor of St. Francis of Assisi. That he was to be buried in the ground of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome because of his devotion to the Virgin Mary and to whose Basilica he went to pray before and after each international trip. Between the Pauline Chapel (Chapel of the Salus Populi Romani) and the Sforza Chapel. He was buried in a single wooden coffin with a zinc interior. No catafalque or papal crosier, and his coffin will remain open and can be visited by the faithful who wish to say goodbye until Friday. This Saturday 26th the funeral will be held at 10:00 am.

Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore

Pope Francis' apartment in the Santa Marta residence where he lived, instead of the Apostolic Palace, has been sealed. Francis Pope was a lover of poetry, tango, mate and follower of the San Lorenzo club.

All offices cease except that of Cardinal Camerlengo, Kevin Farrell, who carried out the certification of his death and began the vacant see, taking command of the Vatican and destroying the ring of Pescador. Giving place to the funeral.

Remaining ahead a conclave in whichh 130 cardinals under 80 years will elect his successor in two weeks, wich will be the number 267 in the Papal order. The first edition of the multidisciplinary fair Varco will be held in Vigo, dates, schedule and information.
